River of Life Family Church is a church of prayer and believes that prayer makes a difference. We believe that prayer should be our first response; not our last resort. We want to see that the members of River of Life become a dedicated prayer force, praying diligently and seeking God’s face in unity. This is why our dream is to see every member become part of a prayer cell. The prayer cells are structured and operate as follows:

• It starts off with a minimum of 3 families, with one person facilitating
• Get together once a week (day to be decided by the group) at a venue decided by the cell to pray through weekly prayer pointers.
• Need not be longer than an hour per week but each prayer cell will most probably develop its own character.

The aim of each cell must be to identify more prayer partners for their cell so that multiplication can take place; i.e. divide into two cells comprising of three families again etc.

The focus of the prayer cells should be to pray and to serve one another but it is not restricted to ROL members only. God’s command was to take the gospel to the lost and to serve those in need and therefore it is necessary for ROL to have an impact on the community as well.

What will we pray for?

We will follow a “two stroke” strategy. An engine needs oil and petrol to function properly. The oil is to lubricate and maintain the engine. This is praying for needs within the group. However the main purpose of the engine is to cause movement. We will send out weekly prayer guidelines in this regard.
